| | Wistaria Vine Festival | Sunday, March 14, 2010 (1 day) Take part in this annual festival honoring Sierra’s Madre’s historic 250-ton, 115-year-old wistaria vine, “The Lavender Lady”. With over 1 million blooms, it is one of the “Seven Horticulture Wonders” and the ‘world’s largest blooming plant’. Get an up-close viewing of the Vine, and time to enjoy the festival that is located among the town’s shops, and features artisans, music, food vendors, and more. In 1918, 12,000 people attended the first public Wistaria Festival. Lunch on your own at the festival. After the festival, we will head to the L.A. Learn about the ship's history – from glorious ocean liner to troop transport ship to her retirement in Long Beach Harbor.
