Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1
Sunday, 12/3/2017 - Journey To Wonder Valley
From our departure points this morning we travel by deluxe motorcoach into California’s fertile Central Valley. Following a morning rest stop and a stop for lunch on your own, we’ll then begin our trek from the Central Valley into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Soon we’ll arrive at the Wonder Valley Ranch Resort, the 75-acre all-inclusive western-style guest ranch located in the scenic Wonder Valley east of Sanger. While enjoying a three-night leisure stay at California’s oldest guest ranch, we’ll appreciate the modern accommodations, paved walkways with antique lamps, gorgeous grounds and the attentive service. The resort offers a wide variety of activities including a swimming pool, spa, a lake for fishing and canoeing, tennis, basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits, a game pavilion with ping pong, foosball and pool tables, horseback riding (additional fee) and much more! Upon our arrival in the late afternoon we’ll enjoy a tour of the ranch followed by a nightly hosted “happy hour.” Following a scrumptious ranch buffet dinner, we’ll gather around the campfire with a singing cowboy and take a jingle-belled horse-drawn hayride for spectacular views of the night sky (weather permitting). Recall memories of warm family gatherings while you sip hot cider or cocoa amongst the good company of your fellow travelers and the friendly Wonder Valley staff.

Day 2
Monday, 12/4/2017 - Historic Reedley
Following a bountiful included breakfast at the resort, we’ll board the motorcoach and travel into the Central Valley and the turn-of-the-century town of Reedley. Step back in time at the Reedley Historical Museum which focuses on the history of the town and Central California with exhibits on turn-of-the-century living and a remarkable collection of antique farm equipment. Following an included lunch at a locals’ favorite, you’ll have time to browse the quaint shops in the historic downtown. This afternoon we’ll tour the incredible Mennonite Quilting Center and International Craft Store. This not-for-profit center has a volunteer staff of quilters with all proceeds from the store going to world relief. On a tour of the shop you’ll see how quilts are hand-quilted, comforters are tied, and rug weavers make rugs out of recycled blue jeans and other clothing. The Quilt Museum has a tremendous display of quilts and the Quilt Store has over 1,000 bolts of fabric. Upon our return to the resort we’ll enjoy “happy hour” and dinner followed by an evening of holiday-themed games.
Day 3
Tuesday, 12/5/2017 - Kings Canyon National Park
Following an included breakfast, we’ll board the motorcoach and travel to Kings Canyon National Park. This dramatic landscape testifies to nature’s size, beauty, and diversity – huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees. We’ll stop in to the Visitor Center and then visit the General Grant Grove, protected by the federal government as General Grant National Park in 1890 – one of our nation’s first National Parks – later to become part of Kings Canyon National Park. On a leisurely stroll through the General Grant Grove, you’ll stand in awe as you walk amongst trees that are 3,000 years old, measure 250 feet tall and 35 feet in diameter, with trunks weighing 1,400 tons. The Grove’s most famous and largest tree, is the General Grant Tree which is the third largest tree in the world and known as the “Nation’s Christmas Tree.” We return to the resort for an included lunch and an afternoon to relax and enjoy the resort’s amenities and optional activities. Should snow create impassable roads and prevent us from reaching Kings Canyon National Park, we’ll remain at the resort for a day of holiday fun including popcorn balls, Christmas carols and holiday-themed games. This evening the resort’s Lakeshore Lounge is transformed to the days of a Renaissance Court so that you may join the Lord and Lady of the Court in a celebratory toast with tankards of ale and glasses of wine. The larger-than-life Christmas tree towers over the hall which will be aglow from the candlelight and the fire in the large stone fireplace. “Eat, drink and be merry” is the order of the evening as a Christmas Court Feast is laid out before you. A parade of food and drink and raucous pageant of singers, musicians and magicians will have you dazed and dazzled at this festive holiday pageant.
Day 4
Wednesday, 12/6/2017 - Journey Home
An included breakfast this morning followed by a fond farewell from the Wonder Valley staff before we begin our journey home. As we make our way south through the Central Valley, we’ll make a couple surprise sightseeing stops as well as a stop for lunch on your own along the way.
