| “Safari” means “adventure” in the Swahili language and the adventure you’ll take today is as unique as they come. Shambala is an authentic 60-acre re-creation of an African wildlife habitat, created by actress Tippi Hedrin. The preserve spans beautiful hillsides and habitats above a river in the San Gabriel Mountains and is home to big cats and other large animals abandoned by humans. Guides will take you on an extensive walking tour of the compounds so that you’re only inches away from these magnificent creatures. Suggested: hat, walking shoes, and a sack lunch to enjoy at the picnic area as a lunch stop will not be made. Minimum age: 18 years old. |
