| Spend the day riding the rails on a vintage train and at a festival celebrating our love for locomotives. This annual festival in the historic country setting of downtown Fillmore features arts & crafts booths, food vendors, antique farm equipment, a “Western Gunslingers” stage show, various historic trains and exhibits held at the Railroad Historical Society Museum that includes an original Southern Pacific Railway depot. Then step aboard Fillmore Western Railway’s vintage rail car for a ride through the Heritage Valley of Ventura County where the beautiful mountains and fruit blossoms will delight your senses and remind you of the way train travel used to be. Spend some time in Santa Paula – browse the historic downtown area, see its historical murals. Perhaps visit the fascinating Oil Museum that highlights the history and inner workings of our state’s black gold industry, before we re-board the train for a scenic ride back to Fillmore. An included lunch (barbecue tri-tip sandwich) at the festival. |
