| A popular tour for those that love animals! A visit to the Gibbon Conservation Center, the only organization in the world devoted exclusively to the study, preservation and propagation of gibbons – a small endangered ape. These animals are native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia and are considered to be among the world’s greatest acrobats – leaping distances of 50 feet and traveling up to 35 miles per hour, 200 feet above the ground. On this docent-guided tour you’ll see several species of gibbons that are happy to entertain you with their antics and see how the conservation is done in their natural habitat. For more than 60 years, Guide Dogs of America has trained guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired. A docent-guided tour of the facility will provide an opportunity to learn about puppy raising, training and breeding. An included picnic lunch during the day. |
