| This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a wonderful way to appreciate history. Enjoy an 8-hour adventure and breath-taking views setting sail towards Catalina Island aboard the S.S. Lane Victory (with no landings). Steam back to the 1940’s aboard the last fully restored and operational Victory Ship. Built in 1945, the S.S. Lane Victory served with distinction during World War II, The Korean War and Vietnam War. After years of deterioration followed by countless hours of restoration by volunteers of the United States Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II, she is back in her original condition for all to appreciate. Dance on deck to the sounds of the Yellow Hound Dawg Band, help the crew hunt down an escaped German spy, explore the ship and its two great museums on your own or join a guided tour of the engine room. An included buffet lunch and continental breakfast onboard the ship. Suggested: rubber-soled walking shoes, sunscreen, hat and sweater or jacket as it can be cool on the water. The boat has indoor and outdoor areas, and a restroom onboard, for your comfort. |
