| A new tour off the beaten path to the strange and mysterious places of interest in California’s High Desert region that were featured on an episode of California Gold with Huell Howser. Journey to Cabot’s Pueblo Museum to learn about and observe Indian Pueblo history and the Hopi Indian-style architecture done by Cabot Yerxa. While on a docent-guided tour you’ll be amazed at Cabot’s dream and determination to create a monument to the Indian people that he so admired. It all began in 1939 with only a pick and a shovel but today you’ll see the four-story, 5,000 square feet, 35-room pueblo with 150 windows that he created. Following, a local guide will provide a tour of Pioneertown, the western town developed by Hollywood investors including Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. More than 50 films and several television shows were filmed here throughout the 1940s and 1950s. An included lunch with choice of entrée at Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace – a real desert treasure. Then, visit the Integratron for a docent-guided tour to see how the fusion of art, science and magic come together. Discover the mysteries of the Integratron which is known as a time machine, rejuvenation machine and anti-gravity device. Finally, a visit to an orchid nursery that grows and sells award winning orchids. Explore the various varieties of orchids and other carnivorous plants on a guided tour with time to browse the gift shop. We will also make a stop at Hadley’s, famous for their date shakes.
