| Get all shook up on this new tour to Palm Springs’ and the “Graceland of the West,” Elvis’ home away from home while shooting films in Hollywood throughout the 1970s. This docent-guided tour of one of the only homes other than Graceland that Elvis owned, will showcase the 5,500-square foot home and 3-acre estate which is designated a historic landmark and was a very private and special place for the King. See the living room where he recorded nine songs for RCA including “Blue Spanish Eyes,” Let Me be the One,” and “Sweet Angeline.” See the fountain that Elvis had installed as a gift to Priscilla, the entertainment room, his private bedroom and more. Then, a local step-on guide will join us for a driving tour of Palm Springs highlighting the eclectic mix of new and Mid-Century Modern residences and buildings found in the Palm Springs area. Known as Desert Modernism, this type of architecture is noted for its use of glass, deep overhangs, natural and manmade materials, and indoor/outdoor spaces that embrace mountain views and the area's warm climate, defining a lifestyle of elegant informality. Both components of this tour were featured on a recent episode of Huell Howser’s California Gold. A truly unique experience. Enjoy an optional lunch at the Spa Casino buffet or lunch on your own in downtown Palm Springs. |
