This memorable evening experience begins with a late afternoon tea (served at approximately 4:00 p.m.) at the Chado Tea Room in downtown Pasadena. Enjoy this decadent and classic experience with freshly made scones (served with Devonshire cream and jam), assorted finger sandwiches and seasonal desserts accompanied by a selection of freshly steeped loose leaf teas. We continue to the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, the 127-acre botanical garden and historical site located in what was the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita. The Arboretum welcomes back the limited-time, internationally acclaimed Lightscape – and this year it’s Bigger, Bolder and Brighter! Created by an international team, Lightscape arrives from London and transforms the Arboretum into a magical night of wonder, light and music that is not to be missed! Enjoy ample time at leisure to explore this fantasy wonderland at your own pace as you wander from the magnificent “Winter Cathedral” of twinkling lights to the breathtaking “Fire Garden” and more! You do not want to miss this dazzling display of light, color and sound that will get you into the holiday spirit. This tour involves moderate walking. This is an outdoor, nighttime event – please be sure to dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes. In some areas the lighting will be low level as part of the experience. Therefore, the organizers of the event encourage you to bring along a flashlight in case of emergency – it should not be used unless it is necessary.
