Today we pay honor and celebrate Lucille Ball, that funny, mischievous redhead whom we all adore! On this fun, celebrity-themed adventure, your guide is Jasmin, a former actress and Old Hollywood aficionado who also leads our tours focused on Walt Disney, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. We’ll travel to Hollywood and visit the Hollywood Museum – featuring the most extensive collection of Hollywood memorabilia in the world. On display are more than 10,000 authentic Hollywood treasures including one-of-a-kind costumes, props, photographs, scripts, stars’ cars, and personal artifacts. The museum is housed in the historic Max Factor Building where Max Factor, Hollywood’s “Make-Up King,” created the looks of Hollywood’s Golden Era stars including Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Judy Garland, Mae West, Jean Harlow, and Marilyn Monroe. A highlight will be the opportunity to stand in the Redheads Only Room, where stars like Lucille Ball and Rita Hayworth became Hollywood’s leading redheads! See Lucy’s personal makeup and accessories and authentic props used on I Love Lucy. Enjoy time at leisure for lunch on your own at Mel's Diner, the iconic restaurant which harkens back to Lucy's 1950's era. This afternoon we’ll walk in the footsteps of Lucille Ball and other legends at Paramount Studios, while we explore over a century of Hollywood history and witness more in the making at this famed studio. During our visit, a knowledgeable guide will lead us on an intimate, behind-the-scenes tour of the longest operating and only remaining major studio in Hollywood – where some of the most celebrated motion pictures and TV shows have been made. Paramount absorbed the former Desilu Studios that once produced I Love Lucy and is still home to “Lucy Park” and Lucille Ball’s office and dressing room when she worked at the studio filming The Lucy Show. From the comfort of a shaded tour cart and plenty of time to also get out and stretch your legs, explore sound stages, the backlot, iconic Hollywood landmarks and more on this two-hour tour, as well as time to browse the Studio Store filled with wonderful souvenirs. You’ll love the “Lucy” sights, stories and anecdotes during this unique Hollywood celebrity tour. This tour involves moderate walking. |
