Celebrate the holiday season with us as we travel south along the coast this afternoon to Coronado, the historic resort city nicknamed The Crown City, since Coronado is Spanish for “crowned one.” Enjoy time at leisure for browsing and an early dinner (approximately 4:00 p.m.) on your own along Orange Avenue in the historic Coronado Village. These three, walkable blocks feature a variety of shops, restaurants and casual eateries. This evening, we’ll visit the legendary Hotel Del Coronado and experience America’s beachfront legend transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland. The iconic resort shimmers and shines as its signature red turrets are draped in thousands of sparkling lights with towering Christmas trees, snowy surprises and garlands galore filling the property with holiday cheer. Enjoy time at leisure to admire the beautiful holiday decorations, idyllic oceanfront setting, historic architecture and unique shops. The “At First Light” Lightshow Spectacular is a complimentary 11-minute light show that takes place every 30 minutes in the grove of towering Norfolk Island Pines on the Del’s Founders Lawn. This dynamic light show orchestrated to music is a brilliant ethereal experience that will captivate you with a finale of snow flurries! Note that in the event of heavy rain, the light show may be canceled up to 24 hours following the storm to protect the safety of the Del’s team and equipment.
